My only real problem is that there are no auxilary inputs thus I cant hook speakers up to it directly so I had to buy a series of connecters to make that work. Its great I use it to watch movies and play xbox on it. I bought this projector just a few weeks ago maybe a month and half ago. If you're by yourself the speakers in the projector rock theyre awesome, but since I do a movie night every friday night outside I have to some speakers that pack a little punch. To play xbox I suggest getting a HD VGA coard and theyre pretty cheap off of ebay so thats no big deal. I have noticed that the projector gets really hot and the exhaust is extremely hot thus heating up the room, but i mean you can get used to that. Overall this product is awesome, im sure the 1k+ projectors are better. BUT for the money youre spending on this I dont think you can find anything better

I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 b/c there's a glitch and the owners manual doesn't come up off the CD. It's lightweight, comes with an awesome black carry case, and makes your presentation look professional and effortless. I'm usually on the side of thinking that technology is a royal pain, but this projector is so easy to set up. So now I've used it twice without having access to the manual. In my first try with it, we couldn't dim the lights.it would be too dark, so the lights had to stay on. And this LCD projector was just fine in a fully lit room. Got to go online to download it. Good value for its quality.

Epson products are high quality and worth every penny. WOW. This projector took me a couple minutes to set up out of the box and was already setup with what I needed it to do. I have used $2000 projectors that did not look as good as this image. This is one of the finest projectors I have ever used. After a few seconds when it warms up you can easily see the image on a light colored wall or screen easily in the middle of the day. I do know that if I need another projector any time it will ultimately be an Epson.

We have two other Epson projectors (Epson PowerLite 77c 2200 Lumen Multimedia Projector) which are nearly identical to the EX30 except for the larger number of interface options including HDMI. I got this projector for use on projector cart for the K-8 school where I work. The short throw of the projector does mean that the cart needs to be pretty close to the projection surface. The ability of the device to turn on quickly, to identify the correct video source, automatically, and to shut down quickly is really valuable in an environment where harried teachers may not always be patient enough to follow instructions. Easy setup, easy switching among devices, a bright image even in a partially lit classroom makes for a great choice. This can be inconvenient on a cart because the projector needs to be in front of the students, but we have small class sizes, so this is not a major problem. As a ceiling mount, this is an ideal solution (our ultimate goal is to have projectors ceiling-mounted in each classroom).

Only 2 drawbacks: 1. The projector was easy to use and lightweight to carry. It hooked up easily to a VCR and pc computer. Sound could be louder for classroom sized room with 40 - 50 people; and 2. USB did not work with my Mac computer; I had to procure a pc laptop for my presentation.
